To celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday and raise money for a good cause, Crowder Consulting held a bake sale on the 12th May.
Money raised from the event will go to Bloodwise, a charity which works to fight blood cancer. A big thank you to everyone who helped us to raise a total of £65. Further information on the important work that Bloodwise do can be found below.
Our vision is simple: we’re here to beat blood cancer.
Imagine a future where the horror of hearing ‘it’s cancer’ is a thing of the past. Where a blood cancer diagnosis doesn’t feel like the end of the world. Where patients are free to do the things they love.
Our mission is to stop people dying from blood cancer, to make patients’ lives better, and to stop blood cancers happening in the first place.
We won’t stop until every single person with blood cancer survives and no one dies from blood cancer again. 100% survival, nothing less.
When we started, almost no children survived acute lymphoblastic leukaemia, the most common childhood cancer. Now, 9 in 10 survive.
Our ground-breaking Trials Acceleration programme is bringing new treatments to more patients, more quickly and more cost effectively.
People with blood cancer should be able to live their lives to the full: free from the fear of relapse; free from side effects and free to do the things they love. We’ll work to improve quality of life until blood cancer no longer has an impact.
Compared to 50 years ago, people now need treatment for a much shorter time.
The strength of treatment can now be adjusted in line with the needs of each person.
Twenty years ago people with chronic myeloid leukaemia needed a stem cell transplant to survive; now, they take a pill each day.
Thanks to our Patient Need research, we now have a complete picture of what people affected by blood cancer need.
If there are ways to prevent blood cancer, we’ll find them. We’ll uncover how blood cancer works, so we can stop it happening.
Our knowledge about the biology of blood cancer is unparalleled across cancer research.
We’ve found the genetic fault which happens in the womb which is the first step to developing childhood leukaemia – we’re trying to stop the second.
