Netbase Case Studies – UK

Yorkshire Water – 2008

The first phase implementation project was to replace several legacy systems for network monitoring, leakage and pressure management. Netbase is primarily used for monitoring the alarms and events in the network, reporting on leakage in the 2600 DMAs, capturing levels of service pressure failures into the infringement register and analysing individual household monitors, which is the Domestic Consumption Monitor.  There is a user base of 155 who are able to access the system on the Yorkshire Water local and wide area network.

Dee Valley Water – 2007

Netbase was implemented in Dee Valley Water in order to replace the leakage calculation spreadsheets they used for reporting and targeting.  The automated downloading of monitored data into Netbase was a key benefit to Dee Valley.  Combined with the automated updating and analysis of consumption and characteristics in DMAs from corporate systems data, they were able to monitor the network daily and produce reports very quickly.

Severn Trent Water – 2006

In Severn Trent Water Netbase replaced two legacy systems for leakage management and pressure management, including the levels of service pressure infringement register.  In addition, the system provided full integration with the Company’s operational time series data store and several corporate systems, which the previous systems could not do.  Netbase also provided the second tier of monitoring alarms and associated network events on a daily basis across the whole network.

Thames Water – 1999

Netbase in Thames Water is used by a large user base of 300 who are able to access the system on the local and wide area networks.  The day to day use by operations includes the monitoring of the network in the 245 zones and 1600 DMAs for flow, pressure, level, alarm events and associated network events.  The system is used for leakage management and reporting and for area and asset analysis for capital planning.
